A very interesting overstrike

Rev. CONCORDIA AVGG Clasped right hands. Cohen 4. RIC 138. Minor roughness on the obverse and with traces of overstriking, otherwise, about extremely fine.


This coin was struck over an earlier denarius, with a faint portrait and the legend AVG still visible on the reverse. It was likely a denarius of Geta as Augustus, dating to the years 209-211.
